Trump’s London Trip Was A Train Wreck!
Donald Trump went to London this week and despite hopes of looking “important” on the world stage, Trump’s London trip did zero to bolster his ego or his image. In fact, it was an unmitigated disaster.
Politics
For years, Donald Trump watched while US presidents were eagerly welcomed inside Great Britain with pomp, circumstance, and great fanfare. He even saw former president Barack Obama greeted and treated as if he were a rock star. However, Trump received nowhere near the same love from our ally across the Atlantic during his very first UK state visit. In fact, Trump’s London trip was a bust before he even set foot on British soil.
While aboard Air Force One and en route to the UK, Trump reignited a long-standing feud with London’s Muslim mayor, Sadiq Khan, by tweeting that he’s a “stone cold loser.” Taking the high road, Mayor Khan refused to bite the bully’s bait and instead said he was “not offended in the slightest” by Trump’s remarks.
“This is the sort of behavior I would expect from an 11-year-old,” Khan said of Trump. “But it’s for him to decide how he behaves. It’s not for me to respond in a like manner. I think it’s beneath me to do childish tweets and name-calling.”
.
….Kahn reminds me very much of our very dumb and incompetent Mayor of NYC, de Blasio, who has also done a terrible job – only half his height. In any event, I look forward to being a great friend to the United Kingdom, and am looking very much forward to my visit. Landing now!

.
‘The Donald’ also called Duchess Meghan Markle (wife of Prince Harry) “nasty” after hearing she was previously a Hillary Clinton supporter and had no desire to meet him.
Interestingly, all of this happened BEFORE Trump’s arrival.
Upon landing in the UK, Trump expected pageantry fit for a king. Instead, he was met with protests fit for a kook.
The “Trump Baby” blimp (a giant balloon depicting a whining Trump in diapers) made an appearance over the skies of London on Tuesday as “Together Against Trump” protesters turned out by the thousands to oppose his state visit.
“I guess when they put out blimps to make me feel unwelcome, no reason for me to go to London,” Trump said of his negative reception.
Trump’s London trip only got worse from there.
Previously, other US presidents were honored with an open carriage ride through the streets of London. Not Donald Trump. Other US presidents were invited to speak to the UK parliament. Not Donald Trump. George W. Bush and Barack Obama were each invited to spend the night at Buckingham Palace. Not Donald Trump.
There’s a very valid reason why.
Queen Elizabeth II dutifully extended an exclusive invitation to Donald and Melania Trump to be her guests at a state dinner at Buckingham Palace. However, ‘The Donald’ broke protocol and showed up unannounced with Donald Jr., Eric Trump, Tiffany Trump, and 2 of their respective spouses — a decision considered incomprehensible by British standards and one that created chaos as palace officials scrambled to intermix the extra Trump’s among the dinner table of royals and other INVITED guests.
.
Apparently under the impression that the Trump brood is America’s version of “royalty,” Donald Trump said he thought it was a brilliant idea to take his kids to the palace so they could hold a (surprise) “next generation” meeting with Prince William and his wife, Kate, as well as Prince Harry.
“I think my children will be meeting them,” Trump boasted to the British press while totally ignoring his royal faux pas. “It would be nice.”
Unfortunately for him, the palace quickly rained on Trump’s parade and announced that no formal meeting between the Trump children and the British royals would occur.
Prince William and Prince Harry also denied Trump what he wanted most: a photo op for his 2020 campaign. The royal brothers and their wives each made a point of avoiding ‘The Donald’ like the plague whenever cameras were around. In fact, Prince William took matters a step further and decided at the last minute not to join Trump in the highly photographed ceremonial laying of a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier — opting to send his uncle, Prince Andrew (who is 7th in line to the throne and of little PR value to Trump) instead.
In what would be the last straw after Trump arrived at the palace with 4 of his 5 kids in tow, the Queen informed ‘The Donald’ that he and his family could not stay at the palace because it was — ahem — undergoing a major renovation. With 775 rooms inside the palace, it was quite a coincidence that every single room had suddenly become unavailable just as Trump and his “Beverly Hillbillies” rode into town.
As his London vacation came to an unceremonious close, Donald Trump played the predictable role of victim and made his usual stab at saving face.
“I used to love London as a city,” Trump said. “I haven’t been there in a long time. But when they make you feel unwelcome, why would I stay there?”
Oh, Donald. When thousands of protestors greet you with disdain upon arrival, when members of the royal family refuse to meet or even be seen with you, and when the Queen of England herself concocts an implausible excuse just to prevent you from the tradition of spending a single night in her palace, there’s a problem.
Trump’s London trip was proof positive to anyone with a brain that the American presidency is seen as a colossal joke on the world stage and particularly, in the eyes of a close US ally. Too bad Donald Trump is the last to know it.
Hey @realDonaldTrump, we read the story about the sailors on a US warship being ordered to hide from you because you’re triggered by the name on their hats. So we turned Madame Tussaud’s into a giant USS John McCain baseball cap. Welcome to London! pic.twitter.com/KuynOwupFm

Umm…so the American Idiot-and-chief showed up for dinner with the Queen, along with his NOT invited brood in tow and thought said brood would be granted a “next generation” sit down with Prince William, Kate and Prince Harry!?! Proving once again that money CAN’T buy you Class or common sense.
Donald Trump and his family are poor white trash with money. The whole world knows it. Trump and his family know it too. And of course, by now the world also knows Trump isn’t nearly as rich as he’d like everyone to believe. But I digress.
Bravo! to the British royals for shutting down such embarrassing and classless nonsense with a quickness.
No way were they going to *played* by the likes of Trump and his clan.
