Turning On Trump To Save Themselves
Oh, say it ain’t so. It looks like several inner-circle allies have begun turning on Trump in order to save their own butts.
Politics :
Yes, Donald Trump’s worst nightmare appears to be coming true. Multiple aides and advisors — who have since become co-defendants after being indicted alongside him for myriad crimes — have decided that turning on Trump and selling him up the river is their best bet to stay out of prison.
The plan by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and the other prosecutors to turn the Trump sycophants against each other appears to be working like a charm. Or, in other words, some of his most trusted flunkies are now singing like canaries and have left ‘The Donald’ shaking in his boots.
According to POLITICO, Yuscil Taveras, an information technology aide at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, has flipped and dramatically changed his story about efforts to erase surveillance video footage in order to hide Trump’s hoarding of classified documents. Although Taveras was not originally charged in the case brought by special counsel Jack Smith, he has since decided to cooperate and tell what he knows in order to avoid a perjury charge.
In Georgia, aides David Shafer, Cathleen Latham, and Shawn Still made the choice that turning on Trump was their ticket to sustained freedom.
The 3 GOP activists each posed as pro-Trump (fake) presidential electors in 2020 and signed documents claiming they were legitimate Georgia electors, despite Joe Biden being the official winner of the state. Now, they are telling officials that their actions were at the exclusive “direction” of Donald Trump and his lawyers and that Trump was the mastermind of the entire plan.
“Strategically speaking, if you are one of the lesser important players, you would definitely want to be in the same trial with Donald Trump. All of the focus is going to be on him,” said Scott Weinberg, a Florida-based attorney who represented one of the Oath Keepers for his role in the January 6th attack on the Capitol. “They don’t want the little guys, they want Trump.”
Also in Georgia, former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows may soon be turning on Trump, too.
Meadows arranged the infamous telephone call between Trump and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, where Trump begged for 11,780 more votes so that he would have been declared the winner of the state. However, Meadows’ attorneys are now twisting themselves into a pretzel to distance their client from Trump and to downplay Meadows having little or nothing to do with the phone call.
If Meadows can shift all guilt to Donald Trump, he may be able to save himself and get off the hook.
Former Trump attorney and friend Rudy Giuliani is financially broke and was initially unable to find a high-powered attorney he could afford who was willing to represent him. Since Trump owes Giuliani thousands of dollars in back legal fees (he has flat out refused to pay him), Rudy could also join the ‘turning on Trump’ crowd and tell all he knows to authorities.
Speaking of broke, Mike Lindell — known to most Americans as the “My Pillow Guy” — announced on Tuesday that his affiliation with Trump has left him financially insolvent.
After joining Trump’s crusade with claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen and that Trump was the legitimate winner (even though he wasn’t), pillow sales for Lindell plummeted like a rock. He initially attempted to stop the bleeding by selling off pillow factory equipment. However, that didn’t keep his business afloat and has instead left him in dire straits.
“I’ve had to borrow millions of dollars this summer,” Lindell lamented. “I’ve never been in debt like this for a long, long time.”
The problem is that Lindell faces a $1.3 billion lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems and a $2.7 billion lawsuit from Smartmatic. He publicly claimed that their machines fraudulently cost Donald Trump the election, which was defamatory.
Perhaps Mr. My Pillow may also choose to tell all he knows (from his time as a member of Trump’s inner circle) just to avoid losing everything he has.
As for the indicted co-defendants, the strategy of the day appears to be “every man and woman for themselves.”
“History has shown the 18 co-defendants that Donald doesn’t care about anyone but himself,” said former Trump fixer Michael Cohen. “I suspect it will be every defendant for himself,” Cohen added.
OK WASSUP! discusses Politics:
Political aides are turning on Trump.
All of those treasonous rodents deserve one another!
We could have predicted this was going to happen, given the despicable and Cowardly nature of ALL rodents associated with Trump, be they sycophants and/or supporters.
Look at that so-called Alpha “Leader” of the “Proud Boys” yesterday at his sentencing for Jan 6. Enrique Tarro. He blamed it all on Trump, as he cried and begged the judge for “leniency”. Had his momma and his fiance pleading for the judge to have mercy on him..smh!
