Valedictorian Fools Trumpies With Obama
A high school valedictorian in Kentucky pulled a fast one during a recent graduation ceremony that left many in the heart of Trump country flustered and exasperated.

During a memorable speech to his fellow graduates and their families, Ben Bowling, the 2018 valedictorian of Bell County High School in Pineville, KY, made national headlines by using his remarks to deliver quite a zinger.
“This is the part of my speech where I share some inspirational quotes I found on Google,” Bowling said during the June 3rd ceremony. “‘Don’t just get involved. Fight for your seat at the table. Better yet, fight for a seat at the head of the table’ — Donald J. Trump.”
Almost immediately, the audience burst into wild applause in support of “The Donald.” However, they were not at all prepared for what happened next.
“Just kidding,” Bowling said during the prolonged cheering. “That was Barack Obama.”
Almost immediately, the auditorium became subdued before going totally silent.
The joke revealed that the audience couldn’t have cared less about the actual quote and the wisdom it provided. Instead, they were only concerned with who authored it and were not at all amused to learn it was Mr. Obama.

But I also have to say -from what I heard on the video-clip the cheers displayed by the audience when they thought the quote was from Trump wasn’t that over the top. The cheers did become less enthusiastic when the audience learned that the quote was actually an Obama quote…but the chees didn’t go silent altogether. I think I may have heard one person “boo” at the end of clip. Btw- The quote itself should have been a tip to the audience that the Valedictorian was “just kidding” about… Read more »
