In an interview on Wednesday with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, Mayor Carolyn Goodman tried to make the case that the Las Vegas strip and all casinos should reopen immediately — despite the fact that COVID-19 is still an active virus and killing people all across America by the thousands daily.
“I want our restaurants open. I want our small businesses open. I want people back in employment,” Mayor Goodman said. “I’d love everything open because I think we’ve had viruses for years that have been here. I want us open in the city of Las Vegas so our people can go back to work.”
Anderson Cooper was so flabbergasted at Goodman’s ignorance, that he took his glasses off and rubbed his eyes in disbelief.
The Governor of Nevada was not amused and responded to the rogue mayor with disdain.
“We are certainly not ready to open,” Gov. Steve Sisolak said of Las Vegas and his state. “I will not allow her to use the citizens of Nevada as a control group or placebo or whatever she wants to call it.”
