Vice News: Behind The Scenes Of Charlottesville
Vice News…
CEO’s, General Lee’s descendant, both former Presidents Bush, and Vice News behind the scenes in Charlottesville all top this week’s news. Let’s take a look at the week in review.
JOHN BRENNAN
In a stunning personal letter to CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, former CIA director John Brennan slammed Donald Trump and his race-baiting remarks on the Charlottesville terror events as “dangerous” and “ugly.”
Wolf:
Just watched your interview with Senator Blumenthal when you mentioned that you lost all four of your grandparents to the unspeakable evil of Nazism. I just want to extend my sympathies not only for their deaths but also to you and your family–and countless others–for the pain inflicted today by the despicable words of Donald Trump. Mr. Trump’s words, and the beliefs they reflect, are a national disgrace, and all Americans of conscience need to repudiate his ugly and dangerous comments. If allowed to continue along this senseless path, Mr. Trump will do lasting harm to American society and to our standing in the world. By his words and his actions, Mr. Trump is putting our national security and our collective futures at grave risk.

STEVE BANNON
While speculation continues to grow that he could soon be out of a job, White House senior strategist and racist-in-chief Steve Bannon mocked Democrats who continued to berate Donald Trump for his support of racists and other white nationalists.
“The longer they talk about identity politics, I got ’em. I want them to talk about racism every day. If the left is focused on race and identity, and we go with economic nationalism, we can crush the Democrats,” Bannon said on Wednesday

CEO’s SHUT DOWN TRUMP PANEL
A total of 9 US CEO’s quit Donald Trump’s business advisory council over his handling of the Charlottesville racism — and more were set to follow. However, in a pitiful attempt to save face, Trump raced to announce that he had shut the panel down on his own.
“Rather than putting pressure on the businesspeople of the Manufacturing Council & Strategy & Policy Forum, I am ending both. Thank you all!” Trump tweeted on Wednesday.
The CEO’s who led the mass exodus include Kenneth Frazier of Merck, Kevin Plank of Under Armour, Brian Krzanich of Intel, Richard Trumka of the AFL-CIO, Inge Thulin of 3M, Denise Morrison of Campbell Inc., Greg Hayes of United Technologies, Alex Gorsky of Johnson & Johnson, and Jeff Immelt of General Electric.

ROBERT E. LEE GREAT-GREAT GRANDSON SPEAKS
The great-great grandson of Gen. Robert E. Lee condemned last weekend’s violence in Charlottesville, speaking out against the display of “hatred and violence” and saying his famous ancestor would find it “appropriate” for Confederate statues to be exhibited in museums and not public arenas.
“At the end of the Civil War, he implored the nation to come together to heal our wounds and to move forward to become a more unified nation,” Robert E. Lee V said. “He never would have tolerated the hateful words and violent actions of white supremacists, the KKK, or neo-Nazis.”

FORMER PRESIDENT’S SPEAK
Each of the 5 living former US presidents have now spoken out against the events of Charlottesville and how Donald Trump is handling it.
On Wednesday, Presidents George H.W. and George W. Bush — the only two living former Republican presidents — released a joint statement regarding the white nationalist rallies.
“America must always reject racial bigotry, anti-Semitism, and hatred in all forms,” the father and son statement read.
“As we pray for Charlottesville, we are reminded of the fundamental truths recorded by that city’s most prominent citizen [President Thomas Jefferson] in the Declaration of Independence: we are all created equal and endowed by our creator with unalienable rights. We know these truths to be everlasting because we have seen the decency and greatness of our country.”

Whoa!…DJ you are clicking on all cylinders this morning. Very good summary. And if I may add a little more of Bannon’s interview – “Steve Bannon, Unrepentant” Excerpt: {Bannon} dismissed the far right as irrelevant and sidestepped his own role in cultivating it: “Ethno-nationalism—it’s losers. It’s a fringe element. I think the media plays it up too much, and we gotta help crush it, you know, uh, help crush it more.” “These guys are a collection of clowns,” he added. H/T: RedState RS Reader: The President’s Chief Strategist proactively called the American Prospect to declare that the alt-right are a “collection of clowns” and there is “no military solution” to North Korea? Even for this circus clown car of an Administration, this is a whole new level of incompetence … this is a breathtakingly cynical bunch of con-artists whose words mean nothing. As this is the Administration that gave us… Read more »
