War Of Words: Trump vs Kim Jong Un
War of words…
A war of words between Donald Trump and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un has rapidly begun to spiral out of control. Should the world be concerned? HELL YES!!!
Current Events
In his unending quest to pick a random fight with almost anybody without first considering the consequences, Trump slung the first shot at Kim Jong Un during a combative speech last week before the United Nations General Assembly. Trump mocked the North Korean leader with his “patented” nickname game, calling him a “Rocket Man” on a “suicide mission,” and added that if “forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea.”
Not surprisingly, Trump’s name calling didn’t sit well with Kim, who proved he was eager to take their war of words to the next level.
Kim retorted by saying Trump sounded like a “dog barking” who is “unfit to hold the prerogative of supreme command of a country.” He also described “The Donald” as “a rogue and a gangster fond of playing with fire.” Oh, but Kim was only getting warmed up.
Next, he called Trump “a mentally deranged dotard” and threatened to “tame (Trump) with fire” for making comments to the United Nations about destroying his nation.
“The mentally deranged behavior of the US president openly expressing on the UN arena the unethical will to ‘totally destroy’ a sovereign state, beyond the boundary of threats of regime change or overturn of social system, makes even those with normal thinking faculty think about discretion and composure,” Kim said in a statement Friday to the North Korean media.
Kim revved it up another notch by saying Trump’s remarks “have convinced me, rather than frightening or stopping me, that the path I chose is correct and that it is the one I have to follow to the last.” He added that he is “thinking hard” about his response and that Trump “will face results beyond his expectation.”
The NK dictator then closed his war of words with this damning little ditty: “I will surely and definitely tame the mentally deranged US dotard with fire.”
If that wasn’t enough, North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho provided an encore and called Trump “a mentally deranged person full of megalomania” who is holding “the nuclear button.” Ri added that by repeatedly calling Kim “Rocket Man,” Trump was making “our rocket’s visit to the entire US mainland inevitable all the more.”
Never one to let anyone appear to get the best of him — or the last word in — Donald Trump fired back at Kim Jong Un with the threat that he won’t be around much longer.
“Just heard Foreign Minister of North Korea speak at UN,” Trump tweeted. “If he echoes thoughts of Little Rocket Man, they won’t be around much longer!”
Trump’s choice of words was all the ammunition Kim needed to ramp up their war of words yet another level. On Monday, he announced to the world that Donald Trump has declared war on North Korea and that they are ready, willing, and able to respond.
“The whole world should clearly remember it was the US who first declared war on our country,” Ri Yong-ho said on behalf of Kim. “Trump claimed our leadership would not be around much longer. He declared a war on our country. Since the United States declared war on our country, we will have every right to make countermeasures, including the right to shoot down United States strategic bombers even when they are not inside the airspace border of our country.”
He added: “The question of who will be around much longer will be answered then.”
Kim then released a propaganda video depicting North Korean missiles blowing up US aircraft carrier the USS Carl Vinson as well as a plane.
Current Events
China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang described the Trump vs. Kim war of words as highly complex and sensitive. He added that all sides should “not further irritate each other and add oil to the flames of the tense situation on the peninsula at present,” but “should instead exercise restraint.”
Russia had another take on the verbal jabs, calling it a “Kindergarten fight” where both men should calm down.
If the back and forth between Trump and Kim were a riddle, it would probably go something like this:
Q: “What do get when you mix 1 crazy world leader with another equally crazy world leader?”
A: “You get 2 lunatics with dangerous weapons of mass destruction that could launch the globe into World War III.”
Yes, the banter between Washington and Pyongyang is more than just hot air. North Korea has been testing a missile that is believed to have the range to hit Japan or even worse, western territories of the United States. The rogue nation has also been stockpiling chemical weapons and, in particular, a large supply of VX, which is the deadliest nerve agent ever created (Interestingly, it was used to assassinate Kim Jong Un’s half-brother, Kim Jong Nam last year).
Analysts believe the escalation in rhetoric might increase the risk of a miscalculation by one side or the other that could have massive repercussions.
The Center for Nonproliferation Studies estimates North Korea has between 2,500 and 5,000 metric tons of chemical weapons. Additionally, Hamish de Bretton-Gordon, former commanding officer of the U.K. Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Regiment (CBRN) and NATO’s Rapid Reaction CBRN Battalion, says that if their chemical stockpile were attached to a missile or ended up in the hands of Islamist extremists, it would be capable of bringing catastrophic consequences to thousands of people. And that would be no laughing matter.
Is Donald Trump truly ready for this fight? Is he strategically acting on the advice of his military generals by backing Kim Jong Un into some sort of trap? Or, is the North Korean dictator correct that Donald Trump is nothing but a “barking dog” who has no idea what he’s getting himself into this time?
I already know Trump is crazy, but this fool in North Korea is crazier. This is not a game and Trump needs to shut up mouthing off like he does to everybody else before he gets us all killed. Like DJ said even if they don’t try to use a bomb they can still sell some of their stuff to terrorists. Then all bets are off and we would all be in big trouble.
