WATCH: ARIZONA DUST CLOUD
You may have experienced fog. You may have experienced a low visibility rainstorm. But you’ve probably never seen anything like this.
This amazing video shows an unbelievable wall of dust that eerily moved through the city of Phoenix, Arizona last week. Although sandstorms such as this are frequent during the region’s monsoon season (which is underway), nothing of this magnitude is on record.
Sandstorms occur over desert land and can reach thousands of feet into the air, spurred by strong winds. The dense cloud in Phoenix dramatically reduced visibility and grounded flights at the Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix, while leaving thousands without electricity.
