WeLoveYamiche Trending After Trump Tussle
# WeLoveYamiche is trending all across social media after Donald Trump berated a black reporter on multiple occasions for simply doing her job and asking questions that left little wiggle room for ‘The Donald’ to escape the truth.
Current Events
Veteran PBS reporter Yamiche Alcindor has had a Trump-target on her back for quite a while now. This was never more evident than when Alcindor asked Trump on Sunday to explain this statement he made on Fox News about governors: “I have a feeling that a lot of the numbers that are being said in some areas are just bigger than they are going to be. I don’t believe you need 40,000 or 30,000 ventilators.”
An angry Trump flew off the handle over the question, shouting “I didn’t say that” before asking Alcindor why “you people” can’t act “in a little more positive, it’s always trying to get you, get you, get you.”
Trump then ordered Alcindor’s microphone turned off and he refused to allow her to ask a second question. However, when Trump called on CNN’s Jeremy Diamond, he passed the microphone back to Alcindor and allowed her to finish her question.
Then on Monday when Alcindor asked about the rate of testing per capita in the US compared to other nations like South Korea, Trump once again put on his boxing gloves to battle her.
“You should be saying ‘congratulations’ instead of asking a very snarky question,” Trump said nastily. “Because I know exactly what you mean by that.”
Since then, journalists and political commentators have called out his actions against Alcindor, saying “He hates being held accountable by Black women.”
Now, that level of overwhelming support has morphed into a hashtag trending on Twitter and all over social media: # WeLoveYamiche.

Totally legitimate question from @Yamiche about what Trump said to Hannity about ventilators. Fair game.

Couldn’t be prouder of @Yamiche for refusing to be intimidated. This is real journalism. What’s sad is that she has to take this on a regular basis from this condescending asshole. https://t.co/l4jJtjnV8Z

With support from former DNC chair Donna Brazile to CNN’s Jim Acosta to fellow black female journalist Jemele Hill, # WeLoveYamiche is everywhere. Even George “Mr. Kellyanne” Conway weighed in his support for Yamiche.
No doubt Trump is seething mad in his private quarters today that a woman — a BLACK woman, no doubt — has bested him.
WATCH TRUMP SPAR WITH ALCINDOR OVER IMPEACHMENT:
Thank you for this post DJ.
In recent years, I’ve often expressed my absolute frustration with the state of the American news industry, especially cable news. Simply put, their businesses model, in general, has sacrificed actual news reporting and investigative journalism for infotainment, manufactured BS and pundit-idiocy -all for higher rating. And it’s all been to the detriment of Our country. Suffice it to say, I’m still quite frustrated with it.
However I will admit that I find a rare reporter like Yamiche Alcindor to be a breath of fresh air. Now mind you, Yamiche is no Gwen Ifill (the gold standard in my book). But she is certainly in the vein of Gwen – she’s no amateur and she’s no *punk.* She’s a professional and she’s d*mn sure is going to DO her job.
And Trump knows it.
