‘WHAT UP’ MICHAEL STEELE?
RNC Chairman Michael Steele is so obsessed with popular hip-hop culture, that he literally named his Republican website blog “WHAT UP.” Either this black man running a predominately white political party is clueless and living on the dark side of the moon, or he’s under some odd assumption that a party of older white conservatives have been anxiously awaiting their moment to become “cool.” Whatever the reason, the results of “WHAT UP” were disastrous!
When Michael Steele published “WHAT UP” on Wednesday, he believed he was onto something special. Pay dirt. A political gold mine. Not only was it “hip” and “edgy,” but Steele even had a “Lil Mike” pop out and walk around the site to “SHOUT OUT ALL ITS GREAT FEATURES.” Genius! But his proud, cheesy grin of accomplishment was soon turned upside down into a frown when it was revealed things were not so rosy on the Republican web. The new site was plagued by embarrassing omissions and numerous crashes its very first day of operation. Administrator passwords were mistakenly posted. A list of GOP accomplishments were listed — but ended in 2004. And a click on the “Future Leaders” of the GOP section was empty. In addition, the site was criticized for looking too much like the flag of the People’s Republic of China and was even down and inaccessible for most of the day. Wanna know “WHAT UP” with Michael Steele? Well, his Republican colleagues took every opportunity to ridicule him. It was a virtual beat down. They treated him like target practice at a guns rights shoot around. They even created the #blackerthanmichaelsteele hashtag on Twitter, to mock the “I wanna be down” Steele as being “whiter” than Gomer Pyle (their words, not mine).
The Michael Steele ass whoopin’ was so intense, that had it been a boxing match, they would have called the fight. By late Wednesday, “WHAT UP” was reinvented as “CHANGE THE GAME” — a much more acceptable moniker for a party of conservative white Republicans. And in case the supposed “Chairman” of the Republican National Committee didn’t know “WHAT UP” before, he has likely learned a lesson (and his place) now!
Bwwwaaaaaahhhhhhh!
