WHAT’S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?
Take a good long look at the original poster for the movie Couples Retreat:
Now take a good long look at the updated “British version” poster for the SAME movie:
Notice anything different? You see, two of the actors featured in the movie, Faizon Love and Kali Hawk, both of whom are Black, have seemingly disappeared from the updated “UK version” of the movie poster. And some are calling the purposeful move racist.
Since the flack became public, Universal Pictures has come forward to say leaving the black couple out was on purpose, but they only wanted to “simplify the poster and make it more appealing to the British public” with well known actors. Hmmm. The new “black-less” poster has since been scrapped for all future international markets in favor of the original version.
