Amid all the coronavirus news, Trump blunders, and COVID-19 protests, where’s Joe Biden? It’s a very valid question. However, the answer is that aside from a recent appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” to deny the Tara Reade sexual assault allegations, Joe Biden has been wisely laying low, letting Donald Trump hang himself with his own words and deeds, and still leading the 2020 presidential polls by 6-8 percentage points all from his basement in Delaware.

With the global pandemic all but shutting down traditional political campaigning, Joe Biden initially appeared to be at a disadvantage against Donald Trump and his bully pulpit of the presidency. Trump chose to go on television every single day to talk to the American people about the deadly virus, virtually leaving Biden in the dust.
And then, it all backfired.
Trump’s daily disagreements with his own hand-picked scientists about the coronavirus (while claiming he just has a “natural gift” for knowing about these types of things) combined with his suggestion that the injection of household disinfectants could somehow cure the virus was his own undoing. Americans quickly tuned Trump out and vowed that if they wanted factual information, he was NOT the one to listen to.
Trump’s failure to use the presidency in a time of crisis to his advantage has been a win-win for Joe Biden. A recent Fox News poll from Michigan shows Biden leading Trump by a 49% to 41% margin. A Quinnipiac University poll in Florida shows Biden leading 46% to 42% in the sunshine state. Additionally, a brand new Ipsos/Reuters poll shows Biden leading Trump nationally by a 45% to 39% margin.

If that wasn’t enough, The New York Times is reporting that Senate Republicans are already beginning to grow nervous that Donald Trump may lose in November — and take all of them down with him.
“President Trump’s erratic handling of the coronavirus outbreak, the worsening economy and a cascade of ominous public and private polling have Republicans increasingly nervous that they are at risk of losing the presidency and the Senate if Mr. Trump does not put the nation on a radically improved course,” The Times reported.
“The scale of the GOP.’s challenge has crystallized in the last week. With 26 million Americans now having filed for unemployment benefits, Mr. Trump’s standing in states that he carried in 2016 looks increasingly wobbly: New surveys show him trailing significantly in battleground states like Michigan and Pennsylvania, and he is even narrowly behind in must-win Florida,” The Times continued.
So, where’s Joe Biden? Sitting comfortably in his Delaware basement and allowing Donald Trump to self-destruct right before America’s eyes, that’s where!
