Welcome to 2012!
We’ve made it to another year and according to the Mayan calendar, the world will supposedly end this year. But according to NASA, it’s all hogwash!
End of world theorists believe a gigantic, killer solar flare will destroy the Earth in December of 2012. However, NASA’s Karen C. Fox says “There simply isn’t enough energy in the Sun to send a killer fireball 93 million miles to destroy Earth.”
Although solar activity is currently increasing in its standard 11-year cycle, this same cycle has occurred over millennia. Therefore, anyone over the age of 11 has already lived through such a solar maximum, with no harm, according to NASA. Which means that a solar death of the earth is a near scientific impossibility.
So don’t quit your job, don’t sell your house, don’t go into debt in expectation of the world’s demise. If NASA’s data is accurate, the earth will survive to see January 1, 2013.
