George Zimmerman has been released from jail.
Late last week, a new bond of $1 million dollars was set for the man who shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. Zimmerman was required to pay 10% or $100,000, as well as provide $1 million dollars worth of collateral. Reportedly, Zimmerman had trouble coming up with the necessary collateral, but he apparently found it in the 11th hour.
Zimmerman initially misled the court about his finances during his first bail hearing, which remanded him back to jail. During his first release, he enjoyed a great deal of freedom and was even allowed to leave the state of Florida. But this time, Zimmerman’s release comes with very strict limitations.
He is required to stay in Seminole County. he will be electronically monitored, he can’t open a bank account, obtain a passport or set foot on the grounds of the local airport. He also has a 6 pm to 6 am curfew. These are all penalties meant to prevent him from fleeing the country while he awaits trial.
In related news, Zimmerman may not have been as injured as he and his attorney wants everyone to think. According to a medical report filed just after the shooting, Zimmerman suffered 2 minor cuts to his scalp but no serious head trauma during his fatal confrontation with Trayvon Martin.
Zimmerman went for the medical checkup the day after the killing only because he needed a doctor’s note to return to work, a prosecutor said in court Friday during the new bail hearing. His injuries were only superficial and left no permanent or serious damage.
Zimmerman is reportedly once again seeking free money from suckers online donations to help him and his wife financially.
