ZIMMERMAN’S LIE DETECTOR

Spread The Love

More details are emerging about the night George Zimmerman shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

The Sanford, FL police department conducted a lie detector test once Zimmerman was in custody — and he passed!  The positive results of the test are partially why police did not initially arrest Zimmerman on murder charges.

However, it has since been learned that Sanford police did not conduct a polygraph test, but rather a voice stress analysis.

Ron Grenier, a former FBI agent and lie detector expert, said the voice stress analysis test is not as reliable as a polygraph test. “Such tests don’t measure a person’s state of mind or fear at some other time,” Grenier said. “He (Zimmerman) may have convinced himself that he was in fear of his life, but whether or not he was is not definitive,” Grenier added.

According to Grenier, Zimmerman’s responses would have been more meaningful if he had been asked, ” ‘Did Trayvon Martin attack you and knock you to the ground?’ Or ‘Was Trayvon Martin on top of you hitting you before you shot him?’ “

Joe Navarro, a former FBI agent who teaches interviewing techniques at Saint Leo University, agreed. “You have to ask precise questions,” he said. “You want to know at what point you feared for your life.”

And on a related note….AP Report: "Zimmerman Didn’t ID Himself" A report indicates that George Zimmerman never identified himself as a neighborhood-watch leader before the February shooting of Trayvon Martin. In the report, Sanford Police Det. Christopher Serino said that Zimmerman first confronted Martin from the car and then got out and pursued Martin. “His actions are inconsistent with those of someone who has stated he was in fear of another subject,” Serino wrote. Serino recommended a charge of manslaughter based on the investigation, but Zimmerman was not charged until a month later.
