No More ‘Pants On The Ground’
Saggy “pants-on-the-ground” may be popular in certain communities, but at least one New Jersey town is saying enough is enough!
After seeing too much “booty” on the boardwalk, Mayor Ernest Troiano Jr. of Wildwood, NJ recently ushered in a new law banning the baggy butt trend. Wildwood has set fines of $25 to $100 for a 1st offense and $200 and 40 hours of community service for offenses thereafter.
For those who think Wildwood is overreacting, New Orleans, Chicago, Atlanta, Detroit, Miami and Jacksonville, Fla., have all enacted similar laws banning the excessively drooping pants craze.
Bathing suits are already prohibited for both males and females while on the Wildwood boardwalk. Now, saggy pants have also joined the list of no-no’s.
“I’m not one of the Fruit of the Loom underwear inspectors; I’m not one of the grapes. I don’t want to see it,” Troiano said.
