RON PAUL ENDS CAMPAIGNING
The final domino in the Republican race for the presidency has fallen.
Ron Paul announced this week that he is ending active campaigning, effectively putting to rest his “never-had-a-chance” campaign.
Paul never won one primary, but that didn’t stop a legion of cult followers from propping him up and keeping him in the contest. But in a race full of high profile faces, Paul’s desires for the White House were always a long shot.
Don’t expect Ron Paul to formally drop out, however. He has completely run out of cash, which means he has no funds to travel. For Paul, that means he can (and will) remain in the race in name only. But he is no more of a threat to Mitt Romney today than he was when the race began.
Ron Paul is angling for a high-profile speaking slot at the Republican National Convention in August. He is also a sucker for attention. Although Ron Paul’s name will remain on the ballot, his race for the presidency is for all intents and purposes over. This now means smooth sailing for Mitt Romney all the way to the nomination!
Well. Well. Well. Will wonders never cease?…lolSeriously, except for Rick Perry's sorry Presidential run, Never have I seen so much (hype) amount to so little…smh. The fact that Paul has finally run out of cash means that his followers (a small but very vocal and annoying bunch) have finally grown a brain and STOPPED financing his "Never-had-a-chance" campaign. Pitiful.
